The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has arrived in Yola, Adamawa State to condole with the government and people of the state over the death of former permanent secretary and an elder statesman, Ahmed Joda.
Joda, who began his career as a journalist with the then Northern Broadcasting Corporation in Kaduna, died at the age of 91 at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola following a brief illness last Friday.
Before his death, he had served as Buhari’s transition chairman in 2015.

The visit by the President to Yola was disclosed by presidential aide, Buhari Sallau, who shared a video on Facebook showing Buhari alighting from a presidential jet.
“President Muhammadu Buhari arrives Yola to condole with people and government of Adamawa State over the death of Alhaji Ahmed Joda OFR, CON, CFR (13 February 1930 – 13 August 2021),” Sallau captioned the video.
