President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with government and people of Sokoto State over the death of Sheikh Haruna Waziri Usman.
Usman, 96, died after a prolonged illness.
Usman was the patriarch of the Waziri Tambuwal family, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s uncle, died after a prolonged illness.
The President, in a condolence message by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Saturday, said: “Sokoto State and indeed the nation lost a noble and distinguished scholar.”
Buhari prayed that Allah would forgive the shortcomings of the community leader and grant Waziri Tambuwal’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
