Buhari reappoints Ishaq Oloyede JAMB chief, others

The waiting seem to be over finally at the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), as President Muhammadu Buhari announced the reappointment of Prof. Ishaq Oloyede as Registrar/Chief Executive of the examinations’ body for a second term of five years.

Oloyede has within five years turned round the fortunes of the JAMB and put more stringent policies in place to address leakages and put a stop to examinations malpractices.

Other heads of educational examining/regulatory bodies reappointed by the President include; Prof Abubakar Rasheed, who will serve as Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), for another five years; Hamid Bobboyi, who will serve as Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), for a second term of four years; Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe as Registrar/CEO of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), for a second term of four years; and Prof. Promise Mebine as the Director/Chief Executive of the National Mathematical Centre (NMC) for an initial tenure of five years.

A statement issued on Friday by the Director, Press and Public Affairs, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Bem Goong, revealed that the appointments were recommended by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.
