President Muhammadu Buhari has urged all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to keep their eyes on the ball and not to be caught off-guard by the opposition.
The President spoke at Aso Rock during a meeting with governors of the party ahead of the party’s national convention which comes up at Abuja, on Saturday.
He urged members nursing grievances against the party to bury the hachets, in the overall interest of the party.
Sunrise News also gathered that the meeting also enabled the President and the governors to arrive at a common ground on the candidates canvassing for offices at the coming election on Saturday.
It was also resolved that the party would be adopting the consensus option to fill all available offices open to be filled on Saturday.
“We decided that we would adopt consensus alternative in picking those who will occupy the respective political offices and no election will take place on Saturday,” an impeccable source told Sunrise News.
It was further learnt that to assuage frail nerves, they also resolved to return monies used in purchasing the party’s forms back to all those who lost out in the consensus game.
The Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee (CECC) and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni assured that everything is being done to ensure a very successful convention.
