The dust over whether or not the reworked Electoral Bill will be signed or not will hopefully be laid to rest on Friday as President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the bill.
Presidency sources said President Buhari will assent the bill on Friday.
A Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have been mounting pressure for the assent on the reworked bill since Tuesday, when they had insisted any further delay would adversely affect the timetable of the 2023 general elections.
One of the provisions of the bill provided that the bill must be signed at least 360 days to the next election.
Presidency sources said signing the bill on Friday will still be within the ambit of the law and is permissible and will not in any way affect the conduct of the polls.
