President Muhammadu Buhari has warned members of governing boards against rancour over contract awards.
Buhari yesterday inaugurated boards of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), at the Digital Economy Complex in Abuja.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Pantami inaugurated 44 boards on behalf of Buhari.
He said awards of contracts had nothing to do with their mandate, urging them to carry out their responsibilities based on the Acts establishing them.
The President criticised the rancour created in some agencies as board members fight with heads of agencies over awards of contracts.
Pantami, who said there would be no excuse for failure, noted they should consolidate on achievements of the ministry which, in the last three years, increased revenue generation by 600 per cent.
