President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari is dead.
The President special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adeshina announced it via his official twitter account on Saturday morning.
“Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon” he said.
The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.

Abba Kyari was a businessman, Lawyer and Politicians. Born in Borno state to a Kanuri family, Kyari graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Warwick in 1980. He also has a bachelor’s degree in law from Cambridge University and was called to bar in 1983.
He also posses a master’s degree in Law and participated in a Management development course in Harvard Business School in 1992 and 1994.
Kyari and President Buhari are very close friends. On March 24, 2020, Kyari tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from an official trip to Germany nine days before.
