Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has enjoined all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.

The governor while congratulating Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the one month Ramadan fast, prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to accept every act of worship executed by the people during the holy month.

Buni, in a statement on Tuesday by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, said: “As we celebrate the Eid-el-fitr, marking the end of the one month religious obligation, l enjoin us all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.

“I am particularly impressed with the massive feeding programme provided by government, individuals, and corporate organisations to orphans, indigent families, and vulnerable groups. This should be encouraged even after Ramadan.”

He also enjoined the Muslims to be good neighbours and extend the spirit of the season to their neighbours, while commending the security agencies in the state for their valued contributions to peace and stability of the state, he reminded the people to continue praying for the unity, peace, security and prosperity of Yobe state and Nigeria.

He expressed the gratitude of the government and the people of Yobe state to Almighty Allah for the improved peace and security now enjoyed across the state.

The governor said government would this year launch a massive agricultural programme to facilitate agricultural revolution in Yobe state to enhance food sufficiency and security.

“I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Yobe state, especially our energic youth, to take advantage of this intervention to explore, exploit and expand the agricultural potentials in your various communities” he said.

“Our government is committed to making agriculture productive, attractive, and profitable in the state. This is to promote food sufficiency and security in the state” Buni said.

He also assured the people that government would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure to fastrack development to improve the lives of the people.
