The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned all tertiary institutions that sure consequences awaits any one of them that triffles with its directive on the submission of names of all candidates admitted outside the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), latest August 31, 2024.

It directed all institutions of higher learning to comply strictly with the deadline to submit all candidates admitted outside of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) from 2017 to date, insisting that it is the institutions, and not the students that ought to do this.

JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the clarification became necessary following the large number of candidates thronging its offices to resolve issues related to their admission.

“While we appreciate the enthusiasm, we must correct the misconception that the focus is on candidates’ actions,” he said.

The true emphasis, he noted, lies with the institutions, which must disclose all candidates admitted outside CAPS before the August 31, 2024 deadline. “This directive requires immediate attention and compliance.

“We urge institutions to carefully review our initial letter and ensure full compliance, as failure to disclose will result in severe consequences.” Candidates are also reminded not to accept admissions outside CAPS.

The Board reiterate that candidates not disclosed by institutions would not be entertained. The Board will not tolerate any Condonement of undisclosed admissions moving forward.
