“The government has not done enough for CDA’s, they still have a lot of works to do that will make us happy.

“Although I am impressed with the road construction in Alaramimo, but it was only possible through persistent reminders.

“I have been writing letters upon letter since 2008, demanding for the construction of this road, now we need street lights to further ensure security around here.

“Olaleye Street and some other adjoining streets are still in deplorable state and this may take its toll on our newly constructed road if not also attended to.

“I am not rebuking them because we are the government, but they need our persistent calls and consistent effort of reminders till it is done because they have a lot of things to do.”

The Community Development Committee Chairman for Orile Agege LCDA Alhaji Hassan Oderinde in his earlier remarks at the forum hinted that with the addition of Ajumobi CDA he now superintends over 53 CDA’s.

Oderinde added that, “According to our CDA constitution, if we observed that a CDA is too much in size for proper management we opt for a split into two.

“The new creation- Ajumobi CDA will bring about the opportunity of knowing themselves better.

“This is a key for better development given the fact that the government prides CDA’s high with better recognition now than ever before.”

According to Apostle Adesanya Ajumobi CDA was carved out of Alaramimo CDA which has 14 streets, so as to ensure a better spread of the dividends of democracy.

He noted that prior to now members of Alaramimo CDA gets same thing with other CDA that had just two streets and oftentimes struggle to make the government largesse go round.

“Alaramimo CDA has 14 streets, but some CDA with only two streets gets same thing allotted to us.

“We then decided that to wrest this issues that kept on happening amongst us let us divide ourselves into two equal halves, so we break it in halves, seven streets to the newly created Ajumobi CDA, seven to Alaramimo CDA.”

While handing over the CDA certificate to Ajumobi CDA Chairman Mr. Okunola Alani, Adesanya hinted that the new CDA will be monitored to ensure it has a standard footing so as to be able to live up to expectation.

Mr. Alani while in a chat with newsmen said that, “The Chairman of our CDA’s parent body in Alaramimo has done quite a lot because he is highly officious.

“Many a time, once we notify him of a need before we make contributions he would have made financial commitment on our behalf.

“He takes adequate care of the CDA members, we did not leave the main body due to any misgiving or squabbles, we all had a fruitful deliberation and we were allowed to be on our own for further development.

Representative of Hon Jubreel Abdulkareem a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Agege constituency 2, was on hand to charge the CDA’s about the importance of close collaboration with the law enforcement agents in the area to ensure security of lives and properties of residents.

Also representatives of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of both Elere and Abattoir Police Stations, who were physically present at the inauguration, in quick successions reaffirmed their unflinching commitments to ensuring that adequate security is guaranteed through maximum cooperation of the CDA, while charging them to eschew jungle justice at all times.
