The Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area Apostle Oloruntoba Oke has observed that Community Development Councils must continue to support and partner with local governments if the dividends of democracy must get to the vulnerable members at the grassroots.

He spoke, Wednesday while presenting the keys of a fully furnished office at the new Secretariat of the council, to the Community Development Council leadership.

Oke, while presenting the key to the office to the CDC Chairman, Pastor Samuel Opajobi, in the presence of the Vice Chairman Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture Femi Afikuyomi and the Council Manager, Mr Hakeem Ogunbambi, said, the new office was a demonstration of his administration’s support for the CDC.

According to him, as an integral part of the council and the closest to the grassroots, the CDC executives needed an office that would bring the organ closer to the council secretariat.

He charged the CDC leadership to continue to support government and ensure that all its initiatives are well disseminated to the people.

While thanking the Chairman, Opajobi said  the CDC has by the gesture, been challenged to do more. “This is a challenge to all of us at the CDC and our various CDAs and we pledge to do more for the progress of the council”.

Present at the presentation are Venerable Ogunsipe and the CDC General Secretary Alhaji Bilesanmi.
