”Area mama”as she is fondly called or Tosyn Bucknor was laid to rest on Thursday November 29th 2018 in an impeccable funeral service hosted by Harvester’s Church in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
The hall was filled to capacity with friends, family, celebrities and fans of the award winning oap who obviously touched so many lives to say the least. The service kicked off with an opening prayer while Tosyn’s husband Aurelien Boyer and her only sibling Funke Obruthe paid their tributes, read her bio and gave vote of thanks, appreciating everyone who supported their family at this time.
An unforgettable moment came when Tosyn’s closest pals and old school mates of Queen’s College sang their anthem, of course led by Nollywood actress Lala Akindoju in her sonorous voice.
Celebrities who graced the occasion include: TY Bello, Ebuka, Banky W, Gbemi O, Lamide, Mai Atafo, Toke Makinwa, Sisi Yemmie, Dija, Lala Akindoju, Debola Lagos, Ali Baba and wife Mummy Mary, MI and many others.
PMNews spoke to heavily pregnant food blogger Sisi Yemmie.
PMNews: What will you miss about Tosyn Bucknor?
Sisi Yemmie: Tosyn is simply the life of the party, i’ll miss seeing her at parties because she’s a very happy and energetic person.
PMNews: What effect does this sad event have on you and what will you do differently from now on?
Sisi Yemmie: Look at the crowd 37 year old Tosyn pulled between Wednesday for the service of songs and Thursday for the burial proper, seemed like she lived up to a 100. I haven’t achieved anything compared to her, so i will like to positively influence people more while I’m still here because death is inevitable.
The final burial process was done by Tosyn’s family alone as requested by her husband. The celebrity oap passed on the 19th of this month due to sickle cell complications. She indeed lived a life worth emulating.
