Chelsea hero, Geremi, has delivered his verdict on striker Romelu Lukaku’s criticism of the Blues’ manager, Thomas Tuchel and his tactics at the club.
Geremi insisted that Lukaku’s criticism of Tuchel and his tactics was ‘misunderstood and misinterpreted’.
Lukaku sparked controversy last December when he said he was ‘not happy’ with his bit-part role under Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international expressed his affection for former club Inter Milan, saying he wanted to return one day, and was critical of Tuchel’s tactics at Chelsea.
Lukaku later apologized for his remarks, but the whole affair could be about to flare up again after he posted a cryptic Snapchat message on Friday evening ahead of Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup final tie with Palmeiras on Saturday evening.
“I think that there was a lot of misunderstanding and misinterpretation about what happened,” Geremi told the Daily Mirror.
“His attitude says that he is happy, so I think it was all misinterpreted about what he said.
“Of course, I think he can still give more, but he is trying. Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world and every club would love to have him in the squad,” he added.
