The former Executive Director of Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board (LITFCMB) Chief Mrs. Lucy Ajayi has disclosed former President Muhammadu Buhari’s conviction about Christ.

Dame Lucy Ajayi made the disclosure at her annual Christmas Carol get together party held on December 14,2024 at her residence in Lagos.

A staunch member and prominent political figure of the All-Progressives Congress in Kosofe Federal constituency polity-Chief Lucy Ajayi, revealed that according to Buhari any Muslim faithful that does not love Christ is not a true Muslim.

“I learnt that if you are Muslim and do not love Christ then you not a true Muslim. I learnt that from Buhari that all Muslims must love Christ.

“They know that he had a miraculous birth, so if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ then you are not a good Muslim, I learnt that from Buhari. Ask Muslims”.

She added that love is the essence of the season and that this is the seventh edition of the gathering she will be hosting which comes with a special testimony.

According to her a Muslim faithful Alhaja Basirat Oseni called from US to support this year’s edition of the carol and this speaks volumes of the needed unity amongst the body of faith.

“We are having traditionalist and Muslims here and in fact a full fledged Muslim Alhaja Basirat Oseni called from the US that she wants to support Lucy Carol.

“For like four years she’s been coming until she went to the US and she called that I want to support Lucy’s carol that is just one big testimony.

“So, I think it is a unifying factor too. I have my neighbours, friends and everybody. I see everyone of us both Muslims and Christians all singing Christ saying Jesus. Our prayer is that 2025 be a turn around for Nigeria’s economy.

“One thing is worth notice here, I never had one person supporting me on this, many will promise and will not do it but look at that devout Muslim Alhaja Basira Oseni, it is not about how big but the spirit that propelled her, what more way to unify us than that of Christ?

Chief Ajayi who shared her strategy of continuity with the Christmas Carol concept not minding the harsh economic realities, noted that her covenant with God and her determination remained her driving force coupled with that of her husband Chief Sir. Folorunsho Ajayi.

“Because I know there is a covenant between me and God immediately, I finished it by January I have started preparation so it will not be too heavy.

“Those things that will not expire like clothes I start buying small, buy in the middle of the year, you buy because my target is always 500 but I know I will have more than a thousand.

“Like today now I knew they were going to be too much, so what we did is some didn’t have full package but they had food.

“So, you see us bringing batches of food then after that again the food ran out because there was no more meat to put in it essentially, so I started giving out money to bail myself out and they were happy.”

Commenting on what the future holds for the nation and her politically speaking, she hinted that Nigeria will eventually get it right and her own antecedents and faith has a lot of things to do with what is next for her in politics.

The priest from St. Jude’s Anglican Church Mende Maryland anchored the gathering of many Christians, Muslims and traditionalists all in the love of the season, as the guests were sumptuously fed and also handed Christmas gifts courtesy the Ajayi’s.
