Cleric of Cathedral of St. Peter Ake, Rev Omidiji lauds CYP initiative, tasks Nigerians on involvement in politics

Reverend Olufemi Omidiji the First Dean of the Cathedral of Saint Peter Ake Abeokuta Ogun State, has encouraged the Christian Youth in Politics (CYP) a faith based organisation to keep at the task of liberating the mind-set of Christians in Nigeria, on the dire need to get actively involved in politics.

The cleric who coordinates the First Church in Nigeria made this assertion while receiving the CYP delegation on a sensitisation drive, in and around Ogun state ahead of the 2023 general elections slated for February 25th and 11th March.

Venerable Rev.Omidiji stressed that instead of agonizing over the state of the nation, what is most dignifying for Christians is to buckle up and be much involve in how the government is forged through political structures.

In his views the more Christian stays away from politics the more an avenue is created for ungodly individuals to hold on to the reins of power.

He charged the CYP delegation not to be deterred but to keep spreading the message across the faithful, so as to change the narrative at the 2023 general elections.

The cleric commended the CYP initiative, pledging his unflinching support to making the novel dream a reality.

Ambassador Princess Kolawole the CYP BoT member who led the delegation, counseled some of the Church workers beckoned upon by the cleric on the need to take decisive political actions in other to salvage our hailing polity.

She also indicated the poise of CYP to give maximum support for a gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo.

The CYP delegation also gave souvenirs of branded aprons and bags of a bonafide CYP member, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate whom they are all out to suppport.
