Commonwealth leaders formally welcomes King Charles

President Muhammadu Buhari and other Commonwealth leaders met with the new Head of the Commonwealth His Majesty King Charles III at Marlborough House on Friday.

The Commonwealth leaders formally met with the King as the new Head of the Commonwealth ahead of the Coronation.

The meeting took place at the Marlborough House of King Charles.

The leaders discussed areas of mutual interest including the empowerment of young people, as 2023 is the year of youth.

King Charles coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6. It will be the first coronation in 70 years, that would see King Charles III and the Queen Consort Camilla, preparing for the historic carriage ride to Westminster Abbey.

The Coronation service, which will last almost two hours, will be seen first-hand by 2,300 guests, including Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, who arrived from the United States on Friday on a commercial flight.
