Following the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the lockdown by another 14 days in the three affected states, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has thereby directed all offices in the state secretariat in Alausa to remain closed for the period.
In a statement signed by Hakeem Muri Okunola, the Lagos State of Service, “We are hereby notified that Mr. Governor has directed all offices in the secretariat as well as other government establishments statewide remain closed for another 14-day period, with effect from 11 pm, Monday 13th April in line with the president’s directive”.
“All hospitals and other frontline respondents in the management and control of the pandemic remain excluded from the pandemic as well as all essential service providers.”
The dedication of all state officials, medical workers, logistic and relief support workers as well as online education providers was however recognised and appreciated in the statement.
Officials who are not directly involved in the battle against the pandemic are however advised to keep on spreading the message, keep safe and practice personal hygiene.
