By Olanrewaju Adesanya
The Executive Council Chairman Igando/Ikotun LCDA, Senior Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya and Lagos West Senatorial Coordinator of South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA 23) Hon. Tunde Adenugba have jointly harped on the need for residents of the council area to get or revalidate their Permanent Voters Card, ahead of 2023 general elections.
The Council Chief made this call during the inauguration of 49 LCDA/Wards Excos of SWAGA in Igando/Ikotun LCDA on Wednesday.
In his clear appraisal of what were the landmark impacts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos state, Akinsanya stated that many opportunities available all across the 57 council areas got their lifeline via his dexterous approach to administration.
Adding that his presidential aspiration must be accorded utmost regards, “ this is the pay back time for all the good developments he has orchestrated in Lagos state”.
“I charge the inaugurated ones, SWAGA 23 is not a child’s play and all hands must be on deck to attain our ultimate goal, we will support you with everything we have.
“ I have benefitted as a civil servant and now as a politician, but for Asiwaju’s idea of increasing the council areas from 20 to 57, I won’t have been opportune to be a Clerk of the House here or become the council boss as at now, for me this is pay back time for all the good things he has done in time past.
“The eligibility of we the electorates to vote is so important, if we truly want Asiwaju as our President come 2023, so I urge us all to see to it that we have our Permanent Voters Card ready.
“It is paramount for those of us whose PVC’s are defaced or misplaced to do the needful as regards getting our issues sorted with INEC now.
“The Beavers Machine that will be used for necessary data gathering during the electoral process, may likely find it hard to recognize defaced cards or capture some faces due to some changes that might have occurred, leading to difficulties in reconciling the face captured earlier with the recent, so I urge us to go to nearby INEC office and revalidate.
“If we misplaced our PVC it is high time we swear affidavits and get a new one.” Akinsanya reiterated.
Speaking about the target votes during the 2023 general election, Akinsanya notes that Igando/Ikotun LCDA will churn out votes in huge numbers far above others in the locality.
Hon. Tunde Adenugba the Lagos West Senatorial Coordinator SWAGA, who officiated the inauguration charged the newly inducted SWAGA team in the council to take with much seriousness the need to sensitize the people in the community, to go and collect their PVC, as millions of the cards according to INEC is yet to be claimed by their owners.
Adenugba stated further that SWAGA is not strictly attached to APC only but accommodating to members of other political parties, who in spite of their political leanings will love to tag along with the course to attain Asiwaju’s presidential ambition.
“ I must commend Igando/Ikotun LCDA for an unprecedented reception accorded SWAGA here, we have been to several other LGA but yours is superb.
“For the inaugurated exco members of SWAGA here, you are chosen mainly to work and bring in as many as are ready to work for the actualisation of Asiwaju’s ambition, not minding their political leanings or none partisan status.
“SWAGA is for all Progressives and Democrats that support Asiwaju’s aspiration.
“ Also according to information from INEC there are millions of PVC yet to be collected by their rightful owners, you need to ensure that they go out and claim their’s as many of them that are yet to pick it up.
“Our votes must count and without PVC we can’t vote, it is time to intensify efforts to attain this set goal.” Said Adenugba.
There was a massive turnout of people from within and outside the locality at the inauguration.
The LGA Coordinator in Igando/Ikotun Comrade Raheem Akeem (AKA Mr. Farry) said that the task ahead is a must for all progressives concerned about reuniting Nigeria.

Morenike Williams, CDC Chairman Elder Osibeluwo, state entourage of the SWAGA delegation as well as SWAGA Coordinators of Egbe Idimu LCDA, Ayobo Ipaja LCDA and others.
