Beneficiaries of a three week free skills acquisition programme in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area have been urged to use the knowledge acquired during the training to make positive impact in the society.
The Council Chairman, Engr Abdul Fatai Oyesanya gave the advice while delivering his keynote address, during the graduation ceremony and presentation of certificates to over 500 beneficiaries.
Oyesanya, while congratulating the beneficiaries reminded them that the essence of the training is to ensure that they become self-reliant and think less of securing white collar jobs.
He added that, with the completion of the training, they are now qualified to be addressed as job providers and not job seekers.
The Council Chairman commended the Director of Operations of Necessary Measures Against Poverty and Perversity (NEMAPP), Mrs Gbemisola Ajetumobi for partnering with the council in the planning and actualisation of the training. He also commended Bola and Oluremi Tinubu Humanism Measures (BOTH-Measures) for its magnanimity ,through the provision of various facilities used during the duration of the programme.
Engr Oyesanya called on public spirited Nigerians and other non-governmental organizations to support government at all levels to reduce the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria.
The graduation ceremony was attended by members of the council Executives, legislators, Management Staff, All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the council area, families and friends of the beneficiaries.
