Council poll: Olayinka canvasses piggy bank option for APC victory

By Our Correspondent

The Chairman of the Governing Council of Kunle Olayinka Peace Initiative (KOPI), Engr. Adekunle Olayinka has tasked all All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful to adopt the kolo, piggy bank initiative to deliver massive votes for all candidates of the party at the local government election scheduled to take place on July 24, 2021.

Olayinka stated this while hosting members of the Kunle Olayinka Peace Initiative (KOPI) in both Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government and Ojokoro LCDA at the Sanmori Grammar School multi-purpose events hall, in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “Let me challenge all of you that the only way to encourage our hard working governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat is to go out of our comfort zone and work assiduously to deliver massive votes, the greatest numbers we have never seen especially in this local government for our great party, APC, in the forthcoming council election”.

Olayinka who is the Special Adviser (SA) to the Lagos State Governor on Development Agenda For Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, said only massive mobilization of voters would redress electoral apathy which has been affecting electoral turnout in the state.

Olayinka who commended members of the party in Ifako-Ijaiye and Ojokoro for coming out en masse during the last membership registration exercise said, if each member mobilised one or two eligible voters to the polling booth and ensured that they voted for the party, it would translate into more than 90,000+ votes for both Ifako-Ijaiye and Ojokoro LCDA and this would be our negotiating power at the state to drive home suitable, deserved political appointments and more dividends of democracy for the good people of both councils.

APC party faithful…fully geared for the forthcoming council poll.

He enjoined KOPI members and All Progressives Congress (APC) family at home and in diaspora to adopt the age long political tactics he termed “Kóló Party Loyalty to tackle the forthcoming election”.

“Kóló Party Loyalty” by all members of APC to keep their voter’s and membership card and that of their family members and when a need arises for its use, members could just open the “Kóló”, use the cards and afterward return the cards back into the “Kóló”. An official prototype of the “Kóló” will be unveiled soon.

The Chairman of the Kunle Olayinka Peace Initiative, Hon. Shakiru Bababunmi Shabund reiterated Olayinka’s position said, the “Kóló Initiative” is an innovative, creative idea and such is rare in our modern day political history. He promised to lead from the front in mobilizing for the Hamzat/Akerele ticket and also charged KOPI members in Ojokoro to be fully on the field for the Tijani/Coker ticket ahead of July 24, 2021 Local Government election.
