An Area Court sitting in Ilorin has on Wednesday dissolved an Islamic marriage between Fatima Harun and Bashir Harun.
The Presiding Judge AbdulQadir Umar said that the wife requested for divorce, saying that her husband is irresponsible and she can no longer cope with situation.
Umar however said Fatima wanted custody of their two children and requested that the husband should take responsibility of the children’s education and N30,000 monthly upkeep.
The husband conceded to the terms, but insisted on paying N5,000 monthly for the two kids and have access to his children whenever he wishes.
The Judge dissolved the marriage and granted the woman custody of the children, while the man have access to them at reasonable time.
The court also ordered Bashir to pay N10,000 monthly for feeding and upkeep of his two kids as well be responsible for their education.
The court warned the woman not to put the children in the custody of another man she chooses to marry, saying that no man can take responsibility of kids like their biological father.
