COVID-19: Atiku’s son discharged

Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar

AFTER a 40 days spell in the clutches of the deadly Coronavirus, Mohammed, son of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, tested negative for the second time to the virus yesterday.

A happy Mohammed who broke the news to premium Times on Monday said he has just obtained the result of his second test from officials at the centre and he tested negative to the Coronavirus.

He said he looked forward to his discharge which according to him is being processed.

He had been in isolation, receiving treatment for the virus since March 19.

“I have just received my second consecutive negative result. My discharge is currently being processed, and I hope to be home this evening,” he told Premium Times on Monday.

Abubakar was admitted into the isolation centre which was on the outskirts of the nation’s capital, Abuja on March 19 after showing symptoms of the sickness.

SUNRISE NEWS recalled that his father had broken the news to the world on his official Twitter handle and asked Nigerians and his political followers and lovers to pray for his quick recovery.

Mohammed’s health condition had generated so much anxiety when the result of his first test after the 14 days had remained positive which necessitated his spending longer days in the centre to ensure his full recovery.
