YOBE State committee on the prevention and control of COVID-19 on Wednesday met with traditional rulers in the state to sensitize them on the pandemic.
The chairman of the committee and Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idi-Barde Gubana led other members to the meeting with fourteen traditional rulers in the state, in the committee’s continued efforts at sensitizing all against COVID-19.
Addressing the traditional rulers during the meeting which took place at Wawa Hall, Government House Damaturu, the Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Idi-Barde Gubana highlighted some critical measures that need to be adopted to curtail the spread of the virus across the state.
Gubana maintain that the committee decided to meet with the traditional rulers, being the critical stakeholders, to notify them on the measures taken by the state Government towards halting the spread of coronavirus especially at the grassroots levels. He appealed to the traditional rulers to extend the message to their subjects
