History has a way of breaking out in uncertain, uncommon circumstances. So it was for a Nigerian returnee, Kafayat Amusan, who was delivered of a baby boy on board Emirates Airlines departing Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Head, Media and Public Relations of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the woman put to bed 30 minutes after departure, which resulted in the plane returning to Dubai after take-off.
The woman is on admission at a hospital in Dubai.
The statement further stated the Nigerian Ambassador in Dubai, Rimi and staff of the Embassy are in touch with the mother and child who are in good condition.
Emirates Airline had to change to another aircraft, which is enroute to Lagos with 265 returnees on board.
Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, congratulated Mrs. Amusan for another addition to her family and prayed she returns safely to the country.
Dabiri-Erewa said she will return to Nigeria after obtaining birth certificate and other necessary travel documents for the baby.
