COVID-19 Indimi donates sanitisers, hand wash to Borno

BORNO Government battle against COVID-19 has received a boost with Alhaji Muhammed Indimi, Executive Chairman, Oriental Energy Resources Ltd., donating 90,000 units of sanitisers and 16,850 liquid hand wash to the state.

Presenting the items to Borno Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Kadafur in Maiduguri on Tuesday, Indimi said the donation became necessary to support the state government’s effort to curtail the spread of the virus.

The Executive Director, Technical, Alhaji Mustapha Indimi, who represented the Executive Chairman at the donation, said the presentation of 90,000 customised unit of sanitizers and 16,850 liquid hand wash was in recognition of the need to assist government in the battle against the pandemic.

He said: “We recognise the efforts of the state government in fighting this pandemic and thereby wish to give a helping hand in this regard.

“We thank God for the opportunity to be able to contribute to the community.

“We hope that we will continue to contribute in many ways so that we can collectively bring the pandemic to an end.”

While receiving the items, Kadafur, who is the Chairman of the State Response Team on COVID-19, lauded the support and urged other organisations to emulate the gesture.

“I want to most sincerely, express our profound gratitude and appreciation to Alhaji Muhammed Indimi for his empathy and support to the people of Borno State.

“This is not the first time he has been supporting the state.”

“I want to put it on record that through the Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi’s Foundation, he had constructed about 100 housing units to complement the effort of government,” Kadafur said. Kadafur gave an assurance that the items given would be put to proper use in the campaign against COVID-19 across the state.
