The Executive Chairman, Epe Local Government, Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya has distributed stimulus packages which includes, rice, beans, noodles and other consumable items to the entire staff who didn’t benefit from the first and second phases of the palliative measures.
Adesanya while handing over the packs of relief materials to the National Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Chairperson, Comrade Kafayat Ijaodola, at the council Secretariat, appreciated the workers for the support and steadfastness in the administration of councils’ affairs.
He also used the opportunity to hailed the essential workers of the council, the health officers, environmentalists and others, who have been at the front line/front burner of the fight against global pandemic “Covid-19”.
He then urged the Union to ensure that the items were judiciously distributed, he maintained that they should keep social distancing order while they were disbursing or distributing the palliative items and use their nose masks.
“It is very imperative to keep social distancing order by the government, so as to curb overcrowding during disbursement of the items and use their nose mask against been contacted the deadliest disease, “Covid-19”. Adesanya said
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya also hinted Journalist that he has distrusted over 4000 food items in the last two weeks to residents of the council, as part of the Covid-19 palliative relief materials.
Adesanya said that he embarked upon this to cushion the effect of the lockdown and sit-at-home order by the federal government due to the ravage of Covid-19 pandemic and increase on the index cases.
“In fact, I decided to distribute the food packs through the trusted representatives of each ward and zones, leaders of market associations, artisans, transport workers, and people living with disabilities”.
“It is also including vulnerable people, poor, religious associations, other notable groups with a good data of their members with a mandate to ensure that poor and vulnerable members are targeted, also aged people are to be benefited”, Adesanya added
He said that it was imperative to ensure proper and even distribution of the items, and implored them that the social distancing order was not floated.
He urged the corporate bodies, group of individuals and capable personalities in the society to step in to support the government’s efforts to ensure that the virus was defeated and also help in minimizing the economic effect of the pandemic on the people.
The Chairman of the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), Epe branch, Pastor Taiwo who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated the gesture and implored residents to continue to comply with all directives of the government to ensure that the pandemic was defeated on time.
