COVID-19: NCDC confirms 4 deaths, 216 new cases on Wednesday

SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, Sept 3, 2020 The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC0, has confirmed 216 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, even as it stated that four persons died of the infection in the country on Wednesday.

The figure brings the nation’s total caseload till date to 54,463 confirmed cases, of which 42,439 have been discharged, leaving a total of 12024 active cases, while the death figure now stands at 1027 in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

In the highlight posted on its website, Plateau, with a total of 59 new confirmed cases continues to lead other states of the federation. Plateau beats Lagos, which hitherto was the epicenter of the infection to the fourth position on Wednesday.

The 216 new cases are reported from 16 states are- Plateau (59), Rivers (27), Abia (22), Lagos (20), Oyo (18), Enugu (17), Kaduna (11), FCT (11), Ogun (10), Ebonyi (4), Osun (4), Ekiti (4), Delta (3), Edo (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Bauchi (1)
