Dangote completes another ‘Gigantic’ project in Nigeria

The 43 Kilometre Obajana-Kabba road which is considered as one of the most strategic highways by motorists has been completed by the Dangote Group of Company.

Speaking on the successful project on Sunday, January 17, the project director, Olatunbosun Kalejaiye said the company was just beginning to dress its shoulders.

Sunrise.ng understands that the road which cut across the North and South, in Kogi State was first of its kind in Nigeria.

On his part, while speaking on the rigid road project, the site Engineer, Mr Samuel Obosi, said unlike asphalt roads, the newly completed road would be durable and less responsive to potholes.

He added that the road would drastically reduce the rate of road accidents in the country. Also reacting to the project completion, the Bajana of Obajana Land, King Idowu Senibi, lauded the company, describing the project as gigantic and the first of its kind anywhere in Nigeria.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for us and many generations to come. Our society will be opened as you can see vehicles and commercial activities have started coming up. May God Almighty bless Dangote and all his staff.”

Mr Frederick Balogun who is the traditional head of Akpata Land, also praised the head of the Dangote group of company, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, adding that the Dangote Cement Obajana plant had brought honour and respect to their kingdoms.

Reacting to the same development, the King of Okebunku Land in Kabba Bunu Local Government, Timothy Omonile, said the construction of the road would reduce criminal activities in the state.

He urged other philanthropists in the country follow suit on the good works of Dangote, adding that Nigeria could only develop its economy and infrastructure in that way.

In another news, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, has said it is mandatory for foreign diplomats to obtain the National Identity Numbers (NIN).

Pantami made this known in a statement on Sunday by his Technical Assistant, Dr Femi Adeluyi.
