Foremost Nigerian industrialist and business mogul Aliko Dangote retains his enviable position as Africa’s richest living person with a total asset valued at over $12.1 billion dollars by the global rating agency Forbes International.
Two other Nigerians who made the list are Chief Mike Adenuga, a telecommunications and oil giant, who was listed as Africa’s fifth richest person and Abdulsamad Rabiu, who like Dangote is a sugar and cement industrialist comes closely behind as Number six on the African ranking.
While Adenuga’s total asset is valued at $6.3 billion, that of Rabiu is put at $5.5 billion.
Other Africans on the Forbes list are: Egyptian Nassef Sawiris, who comes closely behind Dangote as the second richest person in Africa with a total asset valued at $8.5 billion, while Nikky Oppenheimer & family who deals in Diamonds comes third with a $8 billion asset net worth.
Others are Johann Rupert & family, who was listed as the fourth richest African. He trades in luxury goods and have a total asset of $7.2 billion. Listed seventh by Forbes is the Issad Rebrab & family, rated to have a total net worth of $4.8 billion and Naguib Sawiris, listed eighth with a networth of $3.2 billion. Listed ninth is Patrice Motsepe, with a networth $3 billion and Koos Bekker, with a networth of $2.8 billion rated tenth.
Mohamed Mansour, with net worth: $2.5 billion is rated eleventh, Aziz Akhannouch & family comes behind as the 12th richest with net worth: $2 billion.
Listed as 13th richest African by the Forbes Group is Tanzanian Mohammed Dewji whose networth is put at $1.6 billion, 14th is Youssef Mansour from Egypt with net worth: $1.5 billion, while Othman Benjelloun & family, comes 15th with a net worth: $1.3 billion. Michiel Le Roux with net worth: $1.2 billion, is the 16th, while Strive Masiyiwa with net worth: $1.2 billion is the 17th and Yasseen Mansour, also an Egyptian, with net worth $1.1 billion, was listed 18th.
All the 18 African billionaires this year are said to worth $73.8 billion.
