Nigerian singer David Adeleke, who goes by the stage name Davido, will feature in Eddie Murphy’s forthcoming comedy classic, Coming To America 2, according to news reports.
Davido will join Jermaine Fowler, Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones, KiKi Layne, Rick Ross, Luenell, Rotimi, Teyana Taylor, and Michael Blackson in the sequel, which is due for release sometime this year.
The original ‘Coming to America’ was made in 1988 with Murphy playing the lead role as Prince Hakeem, who comes to America with his servant (Arsenio Hall), to find a wife, his queen. James Earl Jones, Paul Bates and John Amos were also part of the main cast, Samuel L. Jackson also featured in a minor role.
According to Wikipedia, the film made $128,152,301 in the United States and ended up with a worldwide total of $288,752,301. It was the highest earning film in 1988 for the studio and the third-highest-grossing film at the United States box office.
