Prophet Godwin Ikuru, the General Overseer of Foundation of Jehovah High Salvation Ministry, Akowonjo, Lagos State has declared that the every Monday sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South East, is a demonic affliction in Igboland, which requires spiritual warfare to restore the reign of peace in the land.
Prophet Ikuru, who predicted victory for President Bola Tinubu long before the 2023 presidential election was held, urged the Igbos to cooperate with the current government, adding that the emergence of Tinubu as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS) is a good development for the country.
The respected cleric then called on President Tinubu to call a unity conference, and urged the South Easterners to put the elections behind them and see the whole thing as the work of God.
Speaking further on the Monday sit-at-home directive in the South East over the continued detention of the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Ikuru said that the issue is technical, adding that Kanu has insulted and disrespected the nation.
“Releasing Kanu is not the issue now. I believe that the sit-at-home directive is a personal thing, it was not imposed by the government. Every Monday, they call a sit-at-home in the South East. It is just one man calling it. I am hoping that the President would look at that area and do something about it.
“As a prophet, I want to say that the sit-at-home directive in the South East is a demonic affliction in Igboland. It is a demonic directive against the progress of Igboland and a fight against the Igboland.
“What was the cause of the sit-at-home, it is because they wanted Biafra and that has not come. Biafra cannot come with hate, fight, destruction or killing. It can only come with understanding. If God says there would be Biafra, it would come.
“I totally condemn sit-at-home and I say no to the order. Every Monday, markets, schools and banks are shut down in all South Eastern states. Who is behind the order of sit-at-home? I, the Prophetic hero of democracy, say no to it and that the Igboland is declared free of the sit-at-home,” he said.
On what the Igbo leaders could do to end the issue, Prophet Ikuru said that members of the Ohaneze Ndigbo are afraid of attacks by unknown gunmen, adding that the issue will now be tackled from spiritual warfare to physical.
He said that God will remove whosoever stands to say there is sit-at-home and that there shall be peace in Igboland henceforth.
While saying that Asiwaju Tinubu’s Presidency would bring good opportunities to the nation, he said that he saw Nigerians in the Diaspora coming back home, and that the current government would solve the problems that past governments were not able to solve.
“One of the signs is the way Tinubu was appointed as the Chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), so he is now the father of the whole West African countries. That will tell you that God knows what He is doing and that He did not make a mistake by choosing Tinubu to be the President of the nation.
“What I am saying to all Nigerians is that this is the time that Nigerians would enjoy themselves. I am congratulating ECOWAS, and my President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I have a belief that as Tinubu has been appointed as the Chairman of ECOWAS, he will do well. Responsibilities have been given to him and when you look at our country, you will see that we are not a nation of war.
“We are a nation of peace despite what is happening in some states in the country. We know how to handle ourselves. Nigerians know how to call themselves to order. President Tinubu will advise others nation in the region to do what they ought to do.
“If Tinubu could make Lagos State the attraction of the world, I believe that he will add more to ECOWAS nation through unity and peace to grow the nations,” he said.
Prophet Ikuru added that he saw a vision that Nigeria was covered, but that suddenly, the veil was removed, and that he saw Nigeria as a big brother to other African countries.
Commenting on some of the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially the removal of fuel subsidy amongst others, he said that whenever a decision is taken it would affect the people initially, but that on the long run, it would work out well.
“The removal of fuel subsidy is a good one. This was one of the areas, where the country was sinking every month. Nigerians should just be patient with him, he is not sleeping, he is working. He would make sure that despite the fact that fuel price is high as the marketers have increased the prices, things would get back to normal. Nigerians should be patient with him,” he said.
The cleric then advised the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of the Labour Party in the election, Mr. Peter Obi to withdraw their petition against President Tinubu from the court.
“My advice for them is a spiritual advice and it is that they should step out of the court and resolve the issues amicably. Some people would not understand now, but they would do later.
“Someone like Mr. Peter Obi still has opportunities, he has not insulted Mr. President, he is only talking about his mandate.
“At this time, he can still come back and drop the whole thing. He can do like former president Goodluck Jonathan, who went on the Twitter and congratulated former president Muhammadu Buhari before he became president in 2015.
“That hour, there was so much tension, but immediately Jonathan twitted, the tension came down. So, it would be better for Mr. Peter Obi to do that rather than waiting till he loses in the court because I see him losing the case,” he said.
