Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, Yusuf Buba Yakub, has described the appointment of Amb. Mohammed Mohammed as a resounding testimony to the famed capacity and experience of the outstanding Diplomat within a career that has spanned over three decades.

He added that Amb.Mohammed’s professional astuteness and experience have become for him a badge of honour from the entire years he has spent in the service of Nigeria in diverse places, including the years he spent at the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps as both an Acting Director General and Director of Programmes of the Agency.

The former federal lawmaker, who extended the felicitations of the Management and staff of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps to the new NIA boss, lauded President Tinubu for identifying the sterling service qualities of the Diplomat and placing a round peg in a round hole.

Buba expressed the hope that the immediate past Nigeria’s Charge’ d’Affaires to Libya would draw from his wealth of experience to make all those, including Mr. President, who have invested trust and confidence in his ability to deliver on this new national charge, proud.

In a letter personally signed by the NTAC DG, a copy of which was made available to the media in Abuja, Buba stated: “Indeed, this new feather to your cap is a resounding testimony to your famed capacity and experience as an outstanding Diplomat, Careerist, top Civil Servant and, above all, a Distinguished Nigerian, all of which have become for you a badge of honour from the entire years you have spent in the service of our dear country, including the years you spent with us at the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) as both an Acting Director General and Director of Programmes.

“While we continue to rejoice with you and your numerous well-wishers across the globe on this quality milestone, we pray for the wisdom, brilliance as well as the strength of the body and mind to fulfill the desires of all those who have invested confidence and goodwill in your ability to succeed in this new national assignment.

“Once again, Your Excellency, Mr DG, for myself, my dear family and, indeed, on behalf of the Management and staff of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, of which you were a distinguished part, I heartily convey to you our very enormous congratulations on your grand elevation to the seat of DG,NIA.

“May Allah (SWT) strengthen you for this new task. Amin!”

The new Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Mohammed Mohammed has served the nation in various capacities, including a stint at the State House, Abuja; in Islamabad, Pakistan, and lately in Tripoli ,Libya, from where he left to assume his current position, following the announcement of his name by the Presidency on Monday to fill the gap left by the immediate past DG of the Agency ,Amb.
