Divine Care Outreach celebrates Valentine’s Day with Diamonds Mine pupils

Pupils of Diamonds Mine Nursery and Primary School, Ifako, had a fun-filled day, Tuesday, as Divine Care International Outreach (DCIO), celebrated this year’s Valentine’s Day with them at the school premises.

The event offered the pupils an opportunity to unwind and to put their creative talent to test as they were asked to create Valentine Greeting Cards for their parents.

The group’s executive director said the NGO yearly organizes regular visits to schools, adopt school pupils and help in the affective trainings of school children.

She praised the proprietress of Diamonds Mine School for building well rounded pupils who would have no problem integrating into the society where they find themselves.

Pastor Shadrack who came to give the pupils a pep talk with the pupils.

She said the group had adopted Diamonds Mine School this year because they find the ambience of the school welcoming and they had a great time with the pupils who were equally enthusiastic.

The group, had visited the school as part of its advocacy initiatives to take reach out to Nigerian children and impact in them skills and values that would make them responsible global citizens.

Earlier the proprietress Mrs Romoke Aderibigbe praised the organisation for coming to her school.

She said at Diamonds School, the teachers take pride in building students who are well grounded, adding that besides creative clinic, the school equally holds inter-class debates, regular Spelling Bee competition and have Chess club among others.

According to her, the management of the school has tagged this year’s Valentine Day as Jeans Day, adding that this year, award was not for teachers who came in a touch of Red, in celebration of Valentine Day, but for teachers most versatile in the use of the social media on their various class platforms.

Mrs Aderibigbe added that there are other exhilarating programmes which would be put together in the current academic session just to stimulate the interest of the learners.

She said the school which was established in 2008 has produced pupils who are holding their own in different strata of the academic cadre, while each year, her products can hold their own in the various inter-school competition and external examinations they have participated.

One of the school pupils, Jomiloju Sennaike responsing on behalf of other pupils thanked the organisations for coming to the school and making this year’s Valentine Day celebration very remarkable for the pupils.

According to him, he and his fellow students now know what Valentine Day represents.
