In a significant recognition of his leadership and inspiring career, Dr. Akin Akinpelu, a renowned coach and member of the Forbes Coaches Council from Nigeria, has been appointed as a member of the advisory board at Myles Leadership University. This announcement comes as the university continues to build an influential board aimed at fostering transformative education and innovation.

Myles Leadership University is known for its commitment to addressing educational challenges by promoting personalized, project-based learning environments that engage students deeply. The institution’s vision emphasizes cultivating leaders who drive change across industries, encapsulated in its goal “to raise a new breed of exceptional leaders who will champion change and innovation in every industry they venture into.”

The university’s mission reinforces its dedication to developing comprehensive educational experiences centered around leadership, problem-solving, and personal development. Additionally, it aims to create a community that attracts global talent, fosters creative collaboration, and supports personal and academic achievement. By engaging experts like Dr. Akinpelu, Myles Leadership University seeks to strengthen its global impact and expand its network of thought leaders.

Dr. Akinpelu’s life story is one of resilience and triumph over adversity. Recalling his journey, he shared, “I wrote the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam five times and worked as a street hawker selling over 10 different products. I faced ridicule and tough times but persevered to pursue education and success.” Despite his challenges, he went on to earn multiple degrees, including a BSc, MSc, MBA, PhD, and a second doctorate (Doctor of Strategic Leadership, Honoris Causa). His achievements include membership in the prestigious Forbes Coaches Council, where his expertise continues to inspire.

Reflecting on his past struggles, Dr. Akinpelu stated, “I have been through hell, but I keep coming out smelling like heaven. The one who failed JAMB five times and was advised to become a shoemaker now speaks to governments and leaders. Yesterday’s student is today’s teacher of teachers and an authority.” His personal story exemplifies the power of resilience, and he hopes it serves as motivation for African youth facing similar hardships.

Dr. Akinpelu expressed deep gratitude to Myles Leadership University for recognizing his contributions and offering him a platform to guide future leaders. “I thank Myles University for counting me worthy and giving me this honor,” he said. His appointment is expected to provide strategic insights that will benefit the university and inspire students to achieve their highest potential.

The inclusion of Dr. Akinpelu on the advisory board underscores the university’s commitment to assembling a diverse and accomplished team to guide its educational and strategic vision, ensuring students are prepared for meaningful leadership roles both regionally and globally.
