The Department of State Service (DSS) said it is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with the order on Monday by a Kaduna High Court granting Ibrahim El-Zakzaky leave to travel to India for medical treatment.
In a statement issued on Tuesday the DSS assured of its willingness to comply with the court order.
The statement doused rising tension from Nigerians who are already insinuating that the Federal Government may not be disposed to obeying the court order.
The statement signed by the DSS spokesman Dr. Peter Afunanya, Phd and obtained by SUNRISE NEWS on Tuesday said the agency has received the certified true copy of the court and is working out the modalities of enforcing the order.
The statement reads:
“This is to inform the public that the Department of State Services (DSS) has received the order granting Ibrahim EL-ZAKZAKY leave to travel to India for medical treatment.
“Consequently, the Service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance. Conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy.”
