Alhaji Mutiu Jimoh, popularly called Mutiu Kekere is dead. He died at the age of 75. He succumbed to death after battling with an undisclosed ailment for about five years.
The late Mutiu Kekere was the famous talking drummer and founding member of the International Brothers Band formed by the juju music icon Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi.
Speaking on his death, Obey described the death of his former band member as painful, and sympathized with the family and children he left behind. Obey, in the statement said: “Mutiu Kekere was a good manan irreplaceable instrumentalist and committed member of my band. We are good friends apart from being a member of my band. I will definitely miss him. He has been ill for some years now and I really appreciate the cooperation and support of his children beause death is a debt that we must all pay. I pray God grant him eternal rest and children and family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.”
