Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has provided the latest fitness update on some of his players following his side’s EFL Cup round of 16 wins over Leeds United on Tuesday night.

Arteta saw his side defeat Leeds at Emirates Stadium, thanks to two goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah.

During his post-match press conference, Arteta said Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard were both carrying minor injuries, while Pablo Marin and Ben Whites were not feeling well.

“No, there is a bug going on, we lost Pablo today as he wasn’t feeling great and Ben had it as well in the last day or two. He wasn’t feeling great, so we decided to take him off,” Arteta said, as quoted by Arsenal’s official website.

The Spaniard added: “They [Tierney and Odegaard] were both out with two different injuries. They tried yesterday, but they didn’t feel great, they wanted to be involved, but they didn’t feel good enough to be selected today and hopefully, in the next few days, they can feel better and be available for Leicester.”

Arsenal’s next match is against Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.
