Eid-el-Kabir: Buni asks Muslims to imbibe virtues of peace, love, accommodation and tolerance

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has called on Muslim faithful to observe the virtues of peace, love, accomodation and tolerance as preached by the religion of Islam.

The governor made this call in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in the state even as he congratulated them for seeing the festival.

He said the Eid-el-Kabir, is a period of sacrifice, forgiveness, submission and benevolence, “we should imbibe these teachings to accomodate one another and promote peace for growth and development of the state and country.

The Governor urged the people to continue to pray for peace and prosperity of the state and country. “As we approach the general elections, we should also pray for peaceful electioneering,” he appealed.

He however admonished the people to engage in agriculture as the season commences for economic recovery, food sufficiency and security.

He also congratulated pilgrims from the state for successful Hajj exercise.

He said: “I rejoice with our Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia for the opportunity to perform the Hajj exercise this year, you should pray for peace to reign in the state and country.

“I wish everyone a rewarding, peaceful and memorable Sallah festival” the Governor said. He further assured that his administration will continue to execute people oriented projects to improve the lives of the people.
