By Michael Olatunji

The traditional ruler of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo I, has enjoined all politicians in his community to close ranks and prioritise attraction of developmental projects to the town in the overall interest  of the people.

The royal father who gave this advice in his palace yesterday reminded the politicians irrespective of their political leaning that the primary essence of participating in politics should be the improvement of the welfare of the people and quality of life.

The Ogunsua stated that he alongside his chiefs would continue to pray for the politicians to be guided aright in their day-to-day  administration of the community.

Ogunsua Toriola explained that it is when the politicians have the fear of God that they can have the good conscience to administer their community and attract genuine development to the town.

Oba Toriola who also emphasized on the need for cooperation and unity among the political class reminded them to always remember that the progress of  Modakeke, the town that binds them together, should always remain their priority.

He reiterated that all politicians are his children, and, as the monarch, he, along with his chiefs would not engage in any activity that would undermine the authority of the government in power.

According to the Ogunsua: “I am a father to all irrespective of the party or affiliation. Our primary interest is  in the improvement of quality of life .

“We are grateful for the extension of  the dividends of democracy to our community by the way of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Famia road, among other projects,  by the focused and  result-oriented administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

“Neither the palace nor myself  have any favourite among the political  parties or politicians. All members and residents of the community are my children. I will continue to pray to almighty God to make all our politicians  vessels of attraction of development to our community.

“The political class in our community should always think of how to sustain peace as it is where peace resides that there can be  meaningful development”, Oba Toriola counselled.
