Emirate tussle: Court orders police to evacuate Bayero from palace

A Kano State High Court has ordered the state Police Commissioner to immediately evacuate Aminu Bayero from the Nasarawa palace where he is presently staying.

Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu who gave the ruling on Monday issued an interim injunction restraining Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero and the four other dethroned emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya and Karaye from parading themselves as emirs pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed by the applicants.

Justice Aliyu gave the order upon hearing the ex parte application, dated May 27, 2024, by Barrister Ibrahim Isa Wangida, counsel to the applicants.

Justice Aliyu who fixed June 11, 2024, for the hearing of the motion on notice, ordered the Commissioner of Police in Kano State “to ensure immediate implementation of the order of the Honourable Court in the interest of justice.”
