#EndSARS protesters calling to the scrapping of the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Monday blocked the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.
Despite the disbandment of the SARS Nigerians have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation and make an executive order to confirm the scrapping of the police unit.
The protesters are also demanding the release of all arrested protesters.
This has led to early morning gridlock as commuters and motorists on their way to work were on standstill.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had on Sunday announced the immediate disbandment of the unit.
The Police boss announced that the controversial police unit has been dissolved with immediate effect across the 36 states in the federation, and the Federal Capital Territory.
All officers and men previously deployed and serving in the unit are to be redeployed with immediate effect to other units while new plans to combat thieves and other criminal elements by the Police Force will be announced in due time.
