Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has told the club’s supporters not to expect any result from the club’s next two games against Arsenal and Chelsea.
Scholes believes Arsenal and Chelsea will beat United in the coming weeks.
Manchester United were smashed by Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz scoring four goals against the Red Devils.
A win at Anfield would have seen Ralf Rangnick’s side move level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham, but a top-four spot now looks beyond them.
The former England midfielder dismissed United’s chances of finishing fourth, as they prepare to take on Arsenal and Chelsea in the next eight days.
“You just can’t see it [finishing fourth] on that performance. Arsenal on Saturday?
“You’re going down there thinking – and Arsenal aren’t a great team – and Chelsea straight after, those are two games they are going to lose. If it’s anything like tonight, they will lose those two games as well,” Scholes told Premier League Productions.
Manchester United travel to Arsenal on Saturday, where they will look to redeem themselves after the heavy defeat to Liverpool and keep their hopes of finishing top four alive.
Arsenal, meanwhile, defeated Chelsea 4-2 away at Stamford Bridge last night and are now level on 57 points with Tottenham ahead of the game with Ralf Rangnick’s struggling Red Devils. A defeat at the Emirates on Saturday would automatically end United’s dreams of playing in the Champions League next season.
