The Managing Director of Nepal Oil and Gas Service, Barrister Ngozi Ekeoma has urged women to face their challenges with courage and remain steadfast in pursuing their goals.
Ekeoma gave the admonition at the Nigeria Edition of the Annual IBOR Woman Conference, held at Ebony Place, Lagos. The event, themed “The Thriving Beauty,” brought together women from various sectors to explore how to flourish in challenging times.
She noted that true beauty comes from within, and that every woman has the strength to thrive despite life’s obstacles. “You have to put in the work,” she emphasised. “It may not be easy, but it will be worth it.”
Ekeoma’s speech focused on the topic of “Economy Opportunities to Thrive in Challenging Times,” offering invaluable insights for Christian women navigating life’s obstacles. She emphasised that thriving is not an overnight achievement but a long-term journey.
“Success doesn’t have to happen immediately. Thriving in beauty means overcoming challenges along the way, not just in the short term, but over time,” Ekeoma explained.
Alluding to the biblical journey of the Israelites, she reminded the audience that despite decades of hardship, they ultimately reached their promised land
Challenges are not failures; they are meant to strengthen us,” she said, urging women to view difficulties as stepping stones rather than setbacks.
The convener of the event, Mrs. Adenike Owolabi, shedding light on the conference’s theme, reflected on a 12-year journey dedicated to helping women uncover their inner beauty, their strength, talents, and gifts and to live from that place of self-awareness.
According to Mrs. Owolabi, the impact of women thriving from within goes far beyond personal success; it transforms communities and nations.
Owolabi, who is the founder of IBOR emphasised that true beauty isn’t just visual but rooted in discovering one’s purpose and calling.
She recalls how her own journey shifted from focusing on external beauty to understanding the deeper dimensions of life. Through a combination of spirituality and self-reflection, she encourages women to ask themselves, “What has God given me to serve my world?” She believes that by embracing this calling, women can create profound change in all areas of life, from the home to the workplace and beyond.
