The Jigawa State Police Command has warmed herdsmen against night grazing.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, stated this in a press statement made available to DAILY POST.

He said the police under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, had enforced new strategies to reduce the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers across the state.

He explained that part of the strategies includes the banning of herders from carrying bows and arrows as well as the ban on underaged persons from herding.

The commissioner also warned farmers against taking laws into their hands and to report any suspicious faces to appropriate authorities.

The statement however added that only youth are allowed to go for rearing, adding that women and elders were also prohibited.

CP Aliyu however warned the farmers and herdmen to live in peace with one another.
