Fayemi tests negative to COVID-19

SUNRISE NEWS, Ekiti, August 1, 2020 The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has come out negative in the repeated test for COVID-19 pandemic.

Fayemi disclosed this on his official twitter handle @kfayemi on Saturday.

He said the good news was broken to him this morning and is coming 11 days after he had tested positive to the raging pandemic.

In the tweet, he said: “After 11 days in isolation, I received news that my COVID-19 repeat test came back negative. My sincere gratitude goes to God Almighty, my family, my medical team and all well wishers for the prayers and solidarity. We must continue to do all we can to tackle the pandemic.”

Sunrise News recalled that Governor Kayode Fayemi had announced on his tweeter handle that he tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic on July 20, 2020.

Fayemi said he tested positive after three repeated tests. He immediately proceeded into self isolation as prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
