The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has taken a significant leap towards sustainability by becoming the first Federal Government Agency to convert all its operational vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Presidential Committee on CNG (PCNG) to mark the beginning of this innovative initiative took place at our office Headquarters in Abuja.

The Programme Director of PCNG, Mr Michael Oluwagbemi was part of the signing. This collaboration aligns with the Federal Government’s efforts to minimize governance costs amidst economic challenges.

“By converting our nationwide fleet, we expect a significant 40-70% cost reduction over four years, with an option to renew for another four years,” he said.

This initiative demonstrates FERMA’s commitment to reducing our environmental footprint while optimizing operational efficiency. We look forward to a successful collaboration with PCNG and a more sustainable future for our operations.
