Fire gutted rows of warehouses built around the Iddo Railway Terminal, Ijora Olopa Area of Lagos state on Sunday.
The Director General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the fire outbreak, said men of the federal and state fire services battled to put out the raging fire.
Oke-Osanyintolu said no lives was lost in the incident started at about 6pm, Sunday.
He said: “The agency response team gathered that the fire was caused by a power surge which occurred when electricity was restored to the area.
“While there appears to be no loss of life, the agency is working alongside the Lagos and Federal Fire Services to control the fire and curtail the extensive damage to properties.”
