Fire razed IDPs camp in Borno

The burnt camp

A mysterious fire has razed down a internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in Monguno, Borno State.
Though details of casualties are yet unknown, but some residents of the town told our correspondent that some children, who were sleeping during the fire incident were consumed by the inferno.
A witnessed, Ibrahim Abubakar, told our correspondent on phone from the town that the inferno raged from around 11:30am till now 12:50pm at the stadium Camp Monguno.
He said everything was raise down by the fire, which also burnt some children who where asleep.
Idi said: “Till now the number of children burnt in the fire are unknown.”
When contacted the spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the National headquarters Abuja, Sani Datti confirmed the incident, stressing that the officials on ground in Borno State were compiling the details.
