The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar has urged the Muslim faithful to seize the period of Eid al-Adha celebration to unite in prayer against insecurity and rededicate themselves to nation-building.

The Minister in his message to Nigerians, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Tinubu, other Nigerians, and the entire Muslim community worldwide on the 2024 celebration of Eid al-Adha.

He stated that the sacrifice of Eid-Al-Adha was a profound and significant act and held a profound meaning for Muslims, noting that: “It symbolizes and commemorates the ultimate act of devotion and obedience to Almighty Allah SWT, a demonstration set by the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) that resonates with us all.”

He urged “the Muslim faithful to seize the period to unite in prayer against insecurity and rededicate themselves to nation-building. As you offer your sacrifices, may Allah shower his divine blessings on you and fulfil all your prayers and aspirations on this occasion of Eid al-Adha.”

He further stated that: “Eid al-Adha is a time to reflect on the profound act of selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It encourages us to embrace the spirit of giving and stand together to support those in need, fostering a strong sense of community and togetherness. Let us use this opportunity to reach out to our neighbours, friends, and those less fortunate, ensuring that all share the blessings of this sacred festival.

“On this joyous day, may your hearts be filled with an abundance of happiness, your homes with the tranquillity of peace, and your lives with the richness of prosperity. Let us celebrate Eid al-Adha with deep gratitude and hope, looking forward to a future of greater harmony and cooperation.
