Foundation gives cash gifts, succour to trauma, burns patient at LASUTH Gbagada

The Wuraade Adekoya Foundation established in memory of the departed Mass Communication Year 2 Student of University of Lagos last year, Wuraade Adekoya to sustain her passion during her life time in partnership with some of her colleagues has continued to impact lives.

The Foundation concentrated this year’s anniversary edition on giving succour and support to in-house patients on admission in LASUTH GBAGADA ANNEX TRUMA AND BURNS UNIT in honour of the deceased young lady.

It was gathered that quite a number of them were on admission for fire accidents. The Nurses who took the Foundation trustees round said, the major patients had domestic fire accidents from adults to babies and others had work hazards accidents, and one hit-and-run case.

There were about 30 patients in all at the time of the visit and all were given a token as a cash support from The Wuraade Adekoya Foundation.

Our reporter was informed that the June 12 event of the Foundation is always the major one and it mostly covers children with ability in disability, less privileged in the society amongst others.

When recounting the experience while in the hospital, one of the trustees said, the government need to have an effective health monitoring team because “doctors and nurses have a way they sabotage the efforts of the government”.’

From the procurement of equipment, to sanitizers, diesel to their training, the staff made it a priority to sabotage them all with little knowledge of the people around.

Another spoke of the staff use of vague languages and careless utterances during their time as patient there, narrating how they talk down and create more fear in them. Also stylishly demanding gratification.

The Foundation also made a vow to always accord fire accident victims a priority during their January 16 and June 12 anniversaries Foundation Outing campaigns against domestic fire carelessness and taking domestic fire safety measures as priority in every home and place of work.

The Wuraade Adekoya Foundation is however, opened to donations in order to further aid their cause in reaching out to many more fire victims.
